Two rectangular prism shaped permanent magnets are pulled to each other.

Problem type:
Plane-parallel problem of magnetostatics

Geometry:

w=1.5" (38.1 mm) - magnet width;
t=0.25" (6.35 mm) - magnet thickness;
l=0.25" (6.35 mm) - magnet length;
δ=0.5" (12.7 mm) - gap between the magnets.

Task:

Calculate the pulling force between two magnets.

Solution:
To calculate the correct result an integration contour is drawn in the air around one of the magnets.
