QuickField Examples

Examples location

QuickField installation program creates the special folder with QuickField example problems at the hard drive of your computer. This folder locates inside your Public Documents folder.

Exact location of Examples folder on your computer depends on version and settings of your Windows system. Normally, that is
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\QuickField 6.2 Examples on Windows XP, and
C:\Users\Public\Documents\QuickField 6.2 Examples on Windows 7/8/10.

Professional and Student version examples folders are different: QuickField 6.2 Examples or QuickField 6.2 Student Examples respectively. To easily locate the Examples folder QuickField offers two ways:

  1. use the Professional Examples or Student Examples command in the Windows Start Menu (Start > Programs > Tera Analysis > QuickField 6.2), or
  2. choose Help>Open Examples Folder in QuickField menu.

Examples folder created on your computer includes files of problems described below, and separate subfolders with ActiveField Examples and ActiveField Tutorial.

Student's version examples have up to 255 mesh nodes, which is agreed with QuickField Student edition capabilities for meshing and solving. However, it is possible to use the QuickField Student edition to view results of the QuickField Professional examples, or other large mesh problems. These example problems may be downloaded from the QuickField Support site www.quickfield.com/examples

To open any of example problems in QuickField you need to double click over the file with corresponding name and .PBM extension (e.g. Elec1_1.pbm) or start QuickField and then use the File > Open Problem command.
