Glossary

Block
Polygonal subregion of the geometric model, possibly multiply-connected. Blocks are surrounded by edges, which are created while describing a model. Each block may have a label for assigning a particular set of physical properties.

Body
Continuous, possibly multiply-connected polyhedron in 3D space. A body is a construcive part of a 3D model. To link a body with particular physical properties and/or field source, define the corresponding body label.

Edge
Line segment or circular arc that constitutes subregion boundaries of the geometric model. Edge may have a label to specify particular boundary condition, constraint and/or field source on it.

Face
Continuous, possibly multiply-connected surface in 3D space. Edges constitute subregion boundaries of 3D model bodies. To link a face with particular boundary condition, constraint and/or field source, define the corresponding face label.

Label
String literal of up to 16 characters. Labels link together geometric objects in your model (blocks, edges and vertices) and numerical data describing entities in real world, which these objects stand for: material properties, loads and boundary conditions.

Mesh spacing value
Defines approximate distance between mesh nodes in the neighborhood of the model vertex.

Vertex
Ends of edges or isolated points in the geometric model. Vertex may have a label to specify particular boundary condition, constraint and/or field source in the corresponding point.
