Current Calculation

This page of inductance wizard allows you to calculate the current, which excite the magnetic field. In the left-hand side of the page, all of the currents are listed you have defined in the model. They are organized in subtrees:

Space currents,

Surface currents and

Linear currents (if any).

If you have defined current density or applied voltage rather than total current, then the wizard calculates it for you.

To calculate the current, select one or more items in the tree. To select more than one item, click on it holding the SHIFT key (block selection) or the CTRL key (random selection). In most cases you need to select only one item. If two opposite currents represent your coil, select only one of them. If you select more than one item, their values are sum up.

Enter the Number of Turns if it is greater than one.

As result of any action on the lists or number of turns the Current value will change automatically. After all, if this page cannot help you to calculate the current simply type its value in the Current box.

Click Next button when you are ready with currents.
