What Is QuickField LabelMover?

LabelMover is a simple tool for parametric analysis. It allows you to study how the simulation results are affected by the changes in the model geometry or physical properties.

There are several types of analysis supported by LabelMover. Depending on your tasks you can choose the analysis that is most suitable to you. But general idea of all of them is based on the parameterization of the non-parameterized field model, where the parameters (called Steps or Variations depending on the analysis type) are physical or geometrical properties of the groups of QuickField model objects – Nodes, Edges and Blocks, specified by their labels.

Serial Analysis

Serial Analysis is a simple but powerful tool that allows you to generate the series of QuickField problems with specified alterations of the model geometry or physical properties (Steps), solves these problems and presents results (Values) as a table or graph.

And instead of necessity to run series of QuickField modeling sessions for each geometry or data alteration, QuickField LabelMover saves your time by doing the same job automatically.

Tolerance Analysis

In many practical cases the actual values of physical properties and actual sizes and relative positions of parts may be different from their nominal values.due to manufacturing inaccuracies or unstable material properties.

It may be needed to estimate the distributions of the solution values caused by these variations. Tolerance Analysis calculates these distributions using the statistical methods. LabelMover generates the series of problems with random changes of chosen parameters (Variations), solves these problems and calculates the statistical properties of the solution values.

Optimization

Optimization mode of LabelMover allows to improve designs, presented as a QuickField models.

Similarly to other LabelMover tasks, selected groups of QuickField model parameters (Variations) may be automatically adjusted to reach specified goal , related to values calculated by QuickField Postprocessor). Goal functions include maximizing, minimizing or attempting to reach some specified number.

During the steps of optimization process LabelMover generate and solves the sequence of QuickField problems, using built-in or external optimization algorithms.
