free tool for QuickField, 3D contour in cylindrical problem
This simple script allows calculation of the full scale 3 dimensional field in the problems with axisymmetric field sources.
Axisymmetric model geometry is shown on the picture above. QuickField model block corresponds to the volume, edge corresponds to the surface, node corresponds to the full circular arc. Arbitrary positioned straight segment connecting (x1, y1, z1) and (x2, y2, z2) cannot be presented in axisymmetric QuickField model. However, it is possible to calculate the field in any given point with known cylindrical coordinates.
This script decomposes the arbitrary straight segment into set of points, calculates the cylindrical coordinates for each of them, and then generates a table of QuickField results for these points.
