Use of new & improved QuickField 3D to aid design of Gamble II water switch hardware for implementation on Gamble III

Gamble II is a water line generator operating at ±1.9 MV, 700 kA, and 60 ns pulse width. Naval Research Laboratory plans to test replacement of the Gamble II oil switch with a combination water output and prepulse switch to aid in the evaluation of performance for implementation on Gamble III.
QuickField 3D is being used to provide critical electric field and capacitance values, needed to evaluate the design of the electrodes.
