For the lab, we used QuickField to analyze a few high voltage design problems, a DC conduction problem, and a coupled DC conduction/Heat transfer problem. Finally, we used the solver to help design and analyze a high voltage transmission line and compare the simulated results including all fringing fields with an analytical model.
The tool was simple and quick enough that we were able to start simulating real-life problems very quickly. The coupled multiphysics capability was straightforward and gave great intuition as to how multiple material properties might effect a complex problem
