Thermal Conductivity

Enter components of conductivity tensor here, or leave None or blank to specify that the block with the corresponding label is excluded. To define two different components, first check the Anisotropic box. With nonlinear materials, you need to define the dependency curve instead of component values. Check the Nonlinear box to get into the curve editor. If the curve had already been defined, you would see a button that can be clicked to get into the curve editor.

Volume Power of Heat Source

Enter the value or check Function of Temperature to enter the dependency curve. If the curve had already been defined, you would see a button that can be clicked to get into the curve editor.

The volume power of heat source can be dependent on coordinates or, in transient problems, on time. To define coordinate- or time-dependent heat source volume power, enter the required formula in place of numerical value. Formulas are discussed in details in Working with Formulas section.

Coordinates

Have sense for anisotropic linear materials or compound (laminated) materials modeled as anisotropic. Specify Cartesian or Polar according to the class of symmetry of anisotropy.

For Time-Domain Analysis

For transient analysis, the values of specific heat C and volume density are also required. Specific heat C can be specified as either the constant value or as a function of temperature. In latter case, check the Nonlinear box to bring up the curve editor for specific heat. If the curve had already been defined, you would see a button that can be clicked to get into the curve editor.
