In this three-part talk, Dr. Nuno João de Oliveira e Silva uses QuickField to simulate fundamental magnetism problems. He compares the Coulombian (magnetic monopole) and Amperian (current loop) models of a permanent magnet and checks them against the dipolar approximation, studies the forces and torque between two magnetic dipoles, and finally simulates the diamagnetic and paramagnetic response of materials to an applied field.
