Errol M. Glenn

Errol Glenn attends the University of California, Irvine, where he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at The Henry Samueli School of Engineering. He joined the Applied Environmental Microbiology Laboratory in the summer of 2010. His research focus is on advanced electrohydrodynamics with applications to biofouling remediation technologies for seawater desalination SWRO membrane processes.

Previous to that, he was a Commissioned Officer in the United States Coast Guard where he served numerous tours throughout the United States; most notably as a Federal Maritime Law Enforcement Officer with the USCG Marine Inspections Department (Los Angeles, CA), as a National Technical Advisor for the USCG Marine Safety Center (Washington, D.C.), and as an Engineering Physicist at the USCG Research & Development Center (Groton, CT). His military honors and personal awards include numerous commendations and achievement medals. He earned a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the United States Naval Postgraduate School (Monterey, CA), and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, NY).

Mr. Glenn is The Henry Samueli School of Engineering's 2010 Recipient of the Newkirk Center for Science and Society Fellowship, and a 2011 Recipient of the International Desalination Association's Scholarship Award.
His work has been published by the International Society for Optical Engineering, among others.
