Magnetic force*

Magnetic force is the mechanical force produced by a magnetic field acting on a moving charge, a current-carrying conductor, or a magnetic body. Its value depends on field strength, current, geometry, and the position of interacting parts.

magnetic force

Magnetic force is important for analysis of solenoids, relays, actuators, bearings, permanent magnets.

In QuickField, magnetic force is analysed using DC Magnetics, AC Magnetics or Transient Magnetics.
