Edge Label Properties in Heat Transfer
Temperature
To specify boundary condition of the first kind (known temperature), check this box and enter value of temperature.
Heat Flux
To specify boundary condition of the second kind (heat flux), check the box and enter flux value.
Convection
To specify convection boundary condition, check the box and enter values of film coefficient and temperature of contacting medium.
Radiation
To specify radiation boundary condition, check the box and enter values of emissivity coefficient and ambient radiation temperature.
Equal Temperature
Check this box to specify the edge (group of edges) as having equal, but not a priori known temperature.
Note:
Dirichlet (known temperature), Neumann (heat flux), convection and radiation boundary conditions can be coordinate- and, in transient problems, time-dependent. To specify coordinate- or time-dependent boundary condition, enter the required formula in place of numerical value. Formulas are discussed in details in Working with Formulas section.
