Edge Label Property in DC and Transient Magnetics

Help contents

Magnetic Potential

To specify Dirichlet boundary condition (known magnetic potential), check this box and enter the value of potential. Boundary condition can depend on coordinates. To specify coordinate-dependent boundary condition, enter the required formula in place of numerical value. Formulas are discussed in details in Working with Formulas section.

Tangential Field

To specify Neumann boundary condition (surface current), check the box and enter the surface current density value. Boundary condition can depend on coordinates. To specify coordinate-dependent boundary condition, enter the required formula in place of numerical value. Formulas are discussed in details in Working with Formulas section.

With transient magnetic problem you might need to specify non-homogeneous Neumann boundary condition (a density of surface current) as a function of time. To do that, enter the required formula in place of numerical value. Formulas are discussed in details in Working with Formulas section.

Zero Normal Flux

Check this box to specify the edge (group of edges) as a boundary not penetrated by magnetic field - magnetic potential (flux function in axisymmetric case) is equal but not a priori known.
