Problem Type:
3D problem of heat transfer.
Geometry:
Given:
Thermal conductivity of metal λ = 40 W/K-m.
Convection coefficient α = 15 W/(K·m².
Ambient air temperature T0 = 20 °C.
Casserole inside temperature T = 100 °C.
Task:
Casserole pan is heated from the bottom side up to water boiling temperature. Determine the required power.
Solution:
Since the geometry model is symmetrical we can reduce the simulation to only one half of the pan.
Results:
Temperature distribution in the casserole pan. Net power losses are 1200 W.
