Field grading*
Field grading is a method used in high-voltage insulation systems to control electric field distribution and reduce local stress concentration. It is achieved by proper geometry, conductive or resistive layers, and capacitive grading elements.
Field grading is important for design of cable terminations, bushings, insulators, grading rings, stress cones.
In QuickField, field grading can be analysed using Electrostatics or AC Conduction.
