Thermal resistance*

Thermal resistance is the ratio of temperature difference across a body to the heat flow rate through it. It depends on material thermal conductivity, geometry of the heat path, and boundary conditions.

thermal resistance

Thermal resistance is important for analysis of cables, heat sinks, multilayer walls, insulated pipes, electronic packages.

In QuickField, thermal resistance can be analysed using Static Heat Transfer or Transient Heat Transfer packages.
