QuickField is a powerful instrument for professional engineers, designers and researchers. It is also an ultimate teaching tool for high school, undergraduate or graduate classes as:

  • it is applicable to a wide range of the teaching applications
  • users do not need dedicated training or even a mathematical background
  • it has an extremely simple user interface

QuickField enables teachers to:

  • explain the physical nature of studied effects and processes and demonstrate the principles of operating industrial devices
  • develop "practical engineering sense" in their students by showing them how to visualize field equations and formulae they have studied
  • produce pictures and animated presentations of fields in various conditions
  • prepare students assignments in the form of example models or as design concepts to be simulated with QuickField

License types for academic use

Universities and educational organizations have more QuickField licenses and configurations to choose from, than commercial companies. In addition to our regularly priced options, depending on your academic requirements and budget, you may select from 3 types of special academic licenses:

All three QuickField Editions - Student, Lite and Professional - share the same user interface, analysis options, documentation and are fully supported by the QuickField Support team.

Budget-minded tutors with ambitious teaching plans may consider their combined use. For example, it may be helpful to have one copy of the Professional Edition for the teacher, a set of Lite Editions installed on campus and also recommend students download the Student Edition on their home computers.

Teachers may request the free evaluation license for QuickField Professional or QuickField lite.

Students who are interested to use QuickField Professional in their research projects may request a short-term non-commercial license in exchange for their examples and presentations.

Educational resources

  • An effortless way to introduce QuickField to students of any level is via our Virtual Classroom. Students can work through a set of tutorials on-line in the browser window or tutors can download and present to their class without the internet connection
  • The full QuickField User Manual is available as a PDF file. You may use it for preparation of your class materials.
  • QuickField Student Edition may be installed on any number of student computers and used for simple simulations or as a free browser of results obtained with the Professional or Lite Editions of QuickField.
  • The book Applied Electromagnetics Using QuickField & MATLAB includes demonstrations and simulations of various physical phenomena using QuickField.

Temporary non-commercial license for Student projects

Are you a student, who is interested to use QuickField Professional for your study research or project, but do not have a budget to acquire a license? There is a possibility for you. We are looking for enthusiasts, who may help us in promoting QuickField by writing blog articles, creating instructional videos, participating in our webinars or providing us with other media content related to QuickField use. In exchange for this activity we will grant you the temporary license for QuickField Professional for the period of our cooperation, which may be used for non-commercial student projects.
We expect the approved candidates to provide us with a fully described QuickField problem example each month (please follow our submission instructions), and after the final work is ready -a video presentation with live QuickField sessions (previously provided examples may be reused).

Terms and conditions:

  1. Tera Analysis Ltd. acting on its own discretion will grant or refuse to grant the temporary non-commercial license for QuickField Professional. You will be informed about Tera Analysis Ltd. decision by email within 72 hours after your application is received.
  2. The requested license, if granted, can be used for a period of time not longer than that specified by Tera Analysis Ltd and solely for the purposes specified in the form above.
  3. QuickField and Tera Analysls Ltd. will be referred in all publications, which include results obtained using this license.
  4. You will provide Tera Analysis Ltd. with the original QuickField problem example for each calendar month of the license grant period, and one final video presentation with live QuickField sessions (previously provided examples may be reused) before the end of the license grant period. You give permission to Tera Analysis Ltd. to use these materials and all accompanying files and documents in QuickField marketing and support purposes, including publications on QuickField Support website (www.quickfield.com), uploads to QuickField channel on YouTube and other internet resources. Your authorship of these materials will be marked in all publications. This permission will not be revoked after the QuickField license end.
  5. If the above terms are not met, Tera Analysis Ltd. may decide to suspend or cancel your license at any time.
